Dee Fort, owner of Dee’s Doggie Den, rekindled her romance with her high school sweetheart, now her husband, because of a dog.
Following that inspiration, she inaugurated the Singles Mingle for Dogs and Their Humans leading up to last year’s Valentine’s Day.
The event returns for its second year starting at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 10, at the boarding, day care, and grooming facility.
During the evening, dogs get to romp and frolic in the 8,000-square-foot play area while humans sip champagne and make eyes at each other.
Maybe this should be called Pooches Lead to Smooches.
The event costs $10 and serves as a benefit for Animal Alert, an East Dallas cooperation among animal lovers and pet watch coordinators who work to reunite lost pets in the area with their people and to find homes for animals who’ve been abandoned or out on the streets all alone.
