The mission of the White Rock Lake Museum is to preserve and present the human and natural history of White Rock Lake Park and its surrounding environment.
The Bath House Cultural Center, located on the east side of the lake, is the museum's home. Discover when the reservoir was built and the natural history that makes the park unique. An audio visual room shows slides of wildlife and flowering plants, as well as an exhibit of area artist whose creative endeavors are inspired by the lake.
This terrific site, created and maintained by Steven Butler, contains a wealth of interesting history, photos, and much more about the lake and surrounding park areas.
White Rock Dog Park is located at Mockingbird Point, 8000 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. The dog park is open daily, from 5 a.m to midnight, throughout the year, except for the second and fourth Mondays of each month, when the park is closed for maintenance or inclement weather.
Built as a movie theater in 1938, the Lakewood Theater is a Lakewood icon celebrated for its 100-foot red, green, and blue Art Deco tower. Today, the theater still shows single-screen movies, but also functions as an entertainment venue. Past events/shows at the Lakewood featured Chelsea Handler, host of the popular E! Entertainment show, Chelsea Lately: musician/singer Gavin DeGraw; and the Dallas Video Festival.
A botanical reserve that features the seasonal event, Dallas Blooms, the largest outdoor floral festival in the Southwest.
